ABOUT THE KAVALAN GREEN LEADER AWARDS
  1. Kavalan and Taya Canvas (Shanghai) Co., Ltd reserve the right to alter or amend these Terms & Conditions, the Entry Criteria or the Judging Criteria at any time.
  2. Kavalan and Taya Canvas (Shanghai) Co., Ltd reserve the right to cancel or postpone the Kavalan Green Leader Awards if this becomes necessary due to unforeseen circumstances. 
  3. By entering any of the categories in the Kavalan Green Leader Awards, the entrant agrees to abide by and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. 
  4. By entering any of the categories in the Kavalan Green Leader Awards, the entrant declares that their entry does not (and will not in future) infringe on the rights and intellectual property rights of any third party. It is the entrant’s responsibility to obtain and make clear the appropriate consents and permissions for any imagery included in their entry. 
  5. There are six award categories in the Kavalan Green Leader Awards in 2026. These are the ‘Innovation’ award, the ‘Green Spirit’ award, the Powerhouse’ award, the ‘Wrap Star’ award, the ‘Kavalan Champion’ award, and the ‘Green Spark’ award.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
  1. Businesses producing wide-format print on Kavalan materials are eligible to enter any or all of the award categories. 
  2. Businesses distributing Kavalan materials in any region are eligible to enter only the ‘Kavalan Champion’ award.
  3. Entrants for the ‘Green Spark’ award should be:
    • A university, college or technical student/s registered for a degree or diploma studying fields involving print, design, visual communications, marketing, advertising, sustainability, fine art, events, graphics, or related disciplines.
    • An apprentice working within a business in the print, signage, large-format, graphics, production, events, or creative industries.
    • A creative sector employee or freelancer in the first four years of a career in the creative sector, including in agencies, print service providers, events companies, or freelance practice.
  4. With the exception of the ‘Kavalan Champion’ award, which recognises a business, and the Green Spark Award, which celebrates a conceptual project, projects entered must have been printed on one of the following Kavalan materials:
    • Kavalan Sunlight (Sunlight 260, Sunlight 280GB, Sunlight 300, Sunlight 310 TAICHI, Sunlight Light Banner, Sunlight Weldable, Sunlight ZeRO and/or Sunlight Weldable Basic)
    • Kavalan Moonlight (Moonlight 200 and/or Moonlight River)
    • Kavalan Butterfly (Butterfly 360 Soft and/or Butterfly Weldable)
    • Kavalan Spiderweb (Spiderweb 300, Spiderweb Super and/or Spiderweb 300 L!ner)
    • Kavalan Gecko (Gecko Stroma, Gecko 300, Gecko 320GB, Gecko DECO and/or Gecko FR-AD)
  5. For the Kavalan Green Leader Awards to be awarded in 2026, the assessment period will extend from 1 March 2024 to 28 February 2026.
ENTRY CRITERIA
  1. For the specific entry criteria for each award category, please read the Kavalan Green Leader Awards - Entry Criteria [LINK].
  2. Entries must be submitted in the format specified in the Entry Form [LINK] for the relevant award category, taking care to adhere to the word limits, image resolution and file formats specified.
  3. With the exception of the ‘Kavalan Champion’ award and the ‘Green Spark’ award, each of which has its own specific criteria in this regard, all entries must be accompanied by at least three high resolution (min 300 dpi) images of the application being entered. If there are any specific aspects, such as a particular kind of finishing or installation, these should be clearly visible in at least one of the supporting images. 
  4. With the exception of the ‘Kavalan Champion’ award and the ‘Green Spark’ award, each of  which has its own specific criteria in this regard, where entries rely on figures generated using the Kavalan Eco Calculator, the figures entered to derive the result must be included in the entry so that these can be verified.
JUDGING CRITERIA
  1. The criteria that the judging panel will consider as part of their evaluation of each entry are outlined in the Kavalan Green Leader Awards - Entry Criteria.
IMPORTANT DATES
  1. Entries open on Monday 9th February 2026
  2. The deadline for final entry submission is 23:59 (UTC+01:00) on Sunday 12th April 2026. Late entries may not be accepted, and entries cannot be edited, amended or supplemented following submission.
  3. Shortlisted entrants will be notified by email by Friday 1st May 2026 and winners will be notified by Monday 11th May 2026 and announced at FESPA Global Print Expo in Barcelona in May 2026.
  4. Winners will be invited to collect their award at an informal celebratory reception on the Kavalan booth at FESPA Global Print Expo in Barcelona in May 2026. 
ENTRY FEE
  1. There is no fee for entering the Kavalan Green Leader Awards.
NUMBER OF ENTRIES
  1. Entrants to the ‘Kavalan Champion’ award may only submit one entry each. In the event that any entrant exceeds this, only the first entry submitted will be accepted.
  2. Entrants to all application-focused award categories (Innovation Award, Green Spirit Award, Powerhouse Award, Wrap Star Award) may submit up to three entries per category. In the event that any entrant exceeds the maximum number of entries for any category, only the first three entries in that category will be accepted. 
  3. Entrants to the ‘Green Spark’ award may only submit one entry each. In the event that any entrant exceeds this, only the first entry submitted will be accepted.
OWNERSHIP AND RIGHTS TO ENTRY
  1. As highlighted above (ABOUT THE KAVALAN GREEN LEADER AWARDS Point 1), by entering any of the categories in the Kavalan Green Leader Awards, the entrant confirms that they own the appropriate rights to all elements (e.g. design, images, data) of the submission.
  2. The entry submission must be original and must not infringe on the rights of any third party. If the work being entered was produced on behalf of a client/customer, the entrant is responsible for obtaining the appropriate permissions and authority from the client/customer and by entering the Kavalan Green Leader Awards, the entrant confirms that they have done so. In the case of the entries for the ‘Green Spark’ award where the work is conceptual, the entrant is responsible for obtaining the appropriate permissions and authority from their educational institution, employer and any brands referenced in the entry.
  3. By entering the Kavalan Green Leader Awards, the entrant confirms that all necessary licenses and/or permissions are in place where the entrant’s submissions include copyrighted content (e.g. music included in videos, stock images included in graphics).
USE OF SUBMITTED WORK
  1. By entering the Kavalan Green Leader Awards, the entrant grants the award organisers (Kavalan and Taya Canvas (Shanghai) Co., Ltd) the right to use, reproduce and display the entry for promotional purposes related to the awards without further consent. This may include (but is not limited to):
    • the Kavalan website
    • Kavalan’s social media platforms
    • Kavalan press releases (and in third party publications as a result of press activity)
    • Kavalan advertising
  2. By entering the Kavalan Green Leader Awards, the entrant agrees to be approached by the award organisers (Kavalan and Taya Canvas (Shanghai) Co., Ltd) and/or their publicity agent regarding participation in promotional case studies, news stories or interviews. The entrant will have the right to refuse to participate in such activities.
CONFIDENTIALITY
  1. If any aspects of the information submitted as part of an entry contain sensitive information, this must be communicated to the organisers at the time of entry. 
  2. Where grounds for confidentiality are reasonable and will not hamper the judging process the entry may be accepted, but Kavalan and Taya Canvas (Shanghai) Co., Ltd reserve the right to refuse to accept entries containing sensitive information.
DATA PRIVACY
  1. Kavalan and Taya Canvas (Shanghai) Co., Ltd will use the entrant’s personal data to manage the entrant’s entry/entries into the Kavalan Green Leader Awards, including reminding entrants of important submission dates, the outcome of their participation and the overall award results. This information may be used or passed to Kavalan’s publicity agent so that they may contact entrants regarding promotional activity relating to the awards.
WINNER’S OBLIGATIONS
  1. The award winners will be notified in advance of the award announcement. This notification is for the purpose of allowing them time to travel to attend the award ceremony in Barcelona if they so wish, but entrants agree not to disclose or announce their win publicly until such time as the announcement has been made by the organisers. 
  2. Shortlisted entrants will be provided with a social media toolkit that they can use to promote their shortlisted status prior to and following the Awards. This kit cannot be exchanged and has no monetary value.
  3. Winners will receive a physical award. This cannot be exchanged and has no monetary value. Winners also stand to benefit from the publicity surrounding the promotion of the awards, and will receive a PR and social media toolkit  that they can use to promote their award win. This kit cannot be exchanged and has no monetary value.
